On Canvas

 

 

I've never been clear about why there is such a distinciton made between art labeled "painting" and that called "textile art" or " mixed media."  Last time I checked, canvas was a fabric.  And as you can see from this website and art by MANY others, paint is often applied to a wide array of fabrics in fabulous ways.  Feel free to call it whatever you like.  Here are some examples of acrylics, rust and other bits and pieces worked onto canvas.  Almost coincidentally, none of these pieces is framed while a lot of my other work is.
